I lived in Hilir Perak region my whole life (more than 30 years ago). The only town in Hilir Perak region is Teluk Intan. When anyone asked me, what is the attraction in Teluk Intan, I would answered 'Menara Condong Teluk Intan'. Believe it or not but the first time I got inside the tower was in Disember 2009.
Actually there was not much to see inside the tower. The town council had renovated the old clock tower into a small museum. They put several pictures of Teluk Intan from years ago.
The day after I visited the Menara Condong, we went to visit Bukit Malawati, Kuala Selangor. It took about 2 hours from my kampung. We parked the car at the foot of the hill (no visitor vehicles are allowed up the hill) and ride a tram provided (you have to pay first RM3/person)

There are several museums placed at the top of the hill. Bukit Malawati was once a fortress build by Sultan Ibrahim in the 17th century. You can see many historical items there such as cannon and poisoned well. If you like monkeys then you should visit Bukit Malawati. Lots and lots of monkeys live there. There were several people sold monkey's food near the place where the tram stopped.
